Do you like it? She injured her ankle during Monday nights soccer game. The game was against a competitive team and apparently that school doesn't like Lauren's school. To say they were aggressive is an understatement! The refs weren't calling any of the aggressive behavior either so it just kept escalating. She injured it by going up to do a header and while she was in the air the girl marking her pulled her down by the back of her jersey. She landed on her left ankle and it rolled. At least the girl that did it got a yellow card for it. I'm not sure if she got the yellow card for pulling Lauren down or for putting her fist out as if to punch her afterwards. She should have gotten a red card.That was the temporary boot that the trainer gave her. After seeing a doctor she got a much nicer boot. She didn't break any bones so it's just a sprained ankle but a pretty moderate to severely sprained ankle. The doctor thinks she tore a ligament and wants her to remain in the boot AND to do physical therapy 3 times a week for the next 6 weeks.
Even with an injured ankle she STILL played in Wednesday night's game. The doctor said it was okay for her to try and her trainer taped her ankle up for stability. She ended up playing almost the whole game. Near the end she was limping so bad that she finally dropped to the ground and she was taken out of the game for good at that point. I told her that there's no more soccer for her in the near future. She can go to practices but she has to sit. The poor girl will forever be in that boot if she doesn't rest it.
